Condition

The canvas is unlined. On the reverse there are numerous signs of woodworm having being present in the past in the stretcher (possibly weakening it) and frame, however this has since been treated. A pattern of craquelure is visible overall, notably under raking light or close inspection. Ultraviolet light reveals a relatively evenly fluorescing varnish and some scattered small retouchings, notably in the sky and towards the lower edge. Presented in a decorative gilt frame
