Condition

As visible in the catalogue illustration, there is a horizontal line of craquelure parallel to the lower edge; this is slightly raised but appears to be stable; there are some other minor lines of craquelure. Ultraviolet light reveals some scattered very small spots of retouching, notably in the figures, and some strokes near the centre of the lower framing edge. This work is otherwise in good overall condition, and ready to hang. Presented framed. The colours in reality are less yellow overall than in the illustration, with richer reds and browns.
