To the naked eye: The painting appears in a problematical condition. We notice many restorations, most probably overflowing covering the whole sky and almost the whole Virgin’s face. The material is very fragile on the canvas, uplift in many areas and caused many losses all over the whole surface (visible on the picture). Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a thick green and uniform varnish. We notice many restorations on the whole surface, especially in the sky and the landscape.
