Description

  • Jacques-Emile Blanche
  • Bouquet de fleurs
  • Signé en bas à droite E. Blanche
  • Huile sur toile
  • 56 x 46 cm ; 22 by 18 1/8 in

Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure (partly visible in the catalogue illustration). Ultraviolet light reveals traces of residual varnish which fluoresce green and some signs of fluorescence primarily in the background which appear to correspond to retouching, notably to the left and above the yellow flower at the top, to the left and right of the vase and just below the signature. The overall appearance of the work under normal light is good and the painting is ready to hang. Presented in a decorated gilt frame.
