Condition
The canvas has not been lined, however a residue of wax is visible on the reverse.
Ultraviolet light reveals a repair approximately 3 by 3 cm above the building to the left, and some other small scattered spots elsewhere.
The painting is in good overall condition and ready to hang.

En juin 1881 Hippolyte Fortin invite Goeneutte à l'accompagner en Normandie, dans les régions situées près de l'estuaire de la Seine. Goeneutte, heureux de quitter Paris, va peindre des paysages marins, souvent animés de personnages, comme dans notre tableau.
