Condition
Please note that this is a decorative piece and not for an academic collection. Largely regessoed and regilt. Losses to gesso, particularly to feet and legs. gilding with some later additions of gold paint to areas of loss. gilding with wear, rubbing to exposed red bole. Feet have been replaced.

Catalogue Note
A table, traditionally attributed to Royal cabinet maker James Moore, which also features distinctive grotesque masks to the hip of each leg is at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. John Gumley, Moore's partner supplied a number of pieces from their workshop to the house.
