A key account of the conquest of the new world. Originally published in Spanish in Saragossa in 1552, this is the second edition in English. It is one of the prime sources for the conquest of Mexico and the Aztecs by Cortes, written by Cortes's secretary, Lopez de Gomara, who includes details of Aztec language, customs and recreations in this primary account.
