Folio in 4's and 6's, 2 parts in 1 volume (273 x 81 mm). Two engraved titles, complete with blanks and errata; the latter washed and likely supplied, else an unusually clean copy. Contemporary ruled calf, with some rubbing to joints and short split at tail to upper joint, one spot of restoration to spine. Cloth case.

Catalogue Note
first edition in English. Rare, especially in such relatively unsophisticated condition. A key work for the Elizabethan dramatists, especially Shakespeare (with who this work of course shares a printer). A true first edition of the first part is rarely encountered and mostly rebound.
