Title within double-ruled border, Leaves A3–5 missigned A2–4 (title-page is A2), initial blank present; "A5" fore-edge shaved, "A6" torn at bottom touching catchword and last line of text, quire K loose, occasional light text offsetting, a few ink and rust spots. Contemporary red morocco paneled gilt with fleuron cornerpieces and gilt-stamped heraldic supralibros, marbled endpapers, spine in six gilt-ruled compartments, green morocco lettering piece, edges gilt; supralibros rubbed.

First edition in English, John Evelyn's copy in an attractive contemporary binding. The work is sometimes attributed to George Pellisson, but ESTC credits Paul Pellisson-Fontanier (1624–1693) as the author.
