Two volumes in one oblong folio (15 1/4 x 21 5/8 in.; 387 x 549 mm). Title-page in French and English, dedication leaf and 40 text leaves in two columns in French and English, contents leaf in English, engraved map of the River Ganges, Jumna, Goomty and Gogra, 48 aquatint plates by and after Hodges printed in bistre; marginal foxing to about 5 plates, short marginal tear to plate 33, offsetting of plates to text leaves, causing some light discoloration. Contemporary calf, gilt Greek key border, marbled endpapers; rebacked, rehinged, some restoration work to extremities.
