Folio (13 x 8 1/2 in.; 330 x 216 mm). Engraved frontispiece (Johnson, Clein No. 3, not illustrated), title within double-ruled border with large woodcut crown above the imprint, text within ruled border with marginal column for side-notes, engraved plate of armorials by John Goddard, folding map of Palestine, 27 double-folding maps and plates, most signed by Thomas Cross, John Goddard, William Marshall, and Robert Vaughan, woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces; some light browning, chiefly in latter half of text, long corner tear to 3V1 costing a word or two in side-note on verso, partial centerfold split to map of Libanus. Ochre and olive calf paneled Cambridge-style, edges stained red.

First edition of Fuller's geographical and historical account of the Holy Land. To finance the publication he found individual sponsors for each section of the text. Each sponsor's support is commemorated in a cartouche of an engraved plate.
