Condition

The work is executed on canvas which has been laid on a thick composite board contemporary to its execution. The work is in excellent overall condition and is ready to install and hang. . UV light inspection reveals no evidence of any retouching or restoration. The work is not held in a frame.

Drum was painted in 1995 and three years later Howson painted a similar picture of another trio of drummers entitled Drum II (Collection of Steven Berkoff).
