Bei der vorliegenden Arbeit handelt es sich um eine frühe Fassung zum dritten Karton für den Rückzug von Marignano. Die Fahnen im Hintergrund sowie die Speere nehmen die Idee des vierten Karton bereits vorweg.

Paper slightly wavy to the lower right side. Some minor paint losses along the right edge. Scattered minor bubbles to the right man's head. Minor paint losses in the blue flag. One paint loss below the left edge in the green. Three minor spots in the green.
Good condition.
