Condition

In-paint on her forehead in the bangs, round the eyes, nose, and upper lip. Scattered in-painting on her gown and arm, evidence of pedimento in area of the hand and forearm. Scattered in-painting in the background throughout.

Catalogue Note

Fanny Hoyt (1793-1864) was the daughter of Nathan Hoyt (1751-1825) and his wife Elizabeth Goodwin Hoyt (1752-1812) of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Jennys painted portraits of Fanny and her parents, well as their three other daughters.
