Condition

Tenon and proper right front foot replaced, cross stretchers with three wooden braces glued beneath, once with a 19th century coat of japanned paint, subsequently removed, current surface is modern. see Pook & Pook auction catalog for image of table with 19th century japanning.

A related dressing with nearly identical legs and stretcher is at Bayou Bend Museum (see David B. Warren, et al., American Decorative Arts and Paintings in the Bayou Bend Collection [Princeton: Princeton University Press for Museum of Fine Arts,Houston, 1998], p. 15, no. F28).  A high chest at the Museum Fine Arts, Boston has identical legs (see Richard H. Randall, Jr., American Furniture in the Museum Fine Arts Boston [Boston: Museum of Fine Arts, 1965], p. 62, no. 50) as does a another dressing table the Wadsworth Atheneum (acc. no. 1926.504).
