Purported provenance described on printed page found inside the piano: "David Rittenhouse the Phila. clock and scientific instrument maker by Charles Taws who moved from New York to Philad. a few years earlier. We believe that many great Americans of that period heard this instrument. [It]...descended through a daughter to the Lukens family of Phila. until 1975 whebn it was sold to Thurman Adams of Bridgeville, Delaware;"

Condition

With structural I-beam running diagonally across the bottom of the case, central stretcher possibly replaced. Restorations to paint and inlay. Please contact department for further conservation and condition notes.
