Each inscribed with the name of a month of the year, axe mark in underglaze-blue for De Porceleyne Bijl.

Mark and Marjorie Allen Antiques, Amherst, New Hampshire.
Condition
Some typical abrasions and chipping to the rim edges, 'June' with a 1/2-inch rim chip; 'April' with a 1/4-inch rim chip; 'July' and 'August', each with haircracks running across the center of the plate. 'December' has overall restoration; the restoration is very-well done, possibly covering a break; it is very difficult to determine the exact nature of the damage.

Another similar set of twelve calendar plates is in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, accession numbers 27.143.-1-12 and another in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, accession numbers 1982-3-31-40 and 1982-3-89-90. A similar set of twelve plates was sold at Sotheby Parke Bernet Inc., New York, December 5, 1978, lot 113.
