Comprising three hexagonal section baluster vases and covers and a pair of beaker vases. 8 pieces.
Provenance
The three vases and covers: Skinner Auctioneers Inc., Boston, The Katherine Prentis Murphy Collection, from the New Hampshire Historical Society, September 24, 1983, lot 6.
Condition
All with typical chipping and glaze losses along the edges. In good condition except:
Baluster vases and covers: One cover; the lion knob has been off and glued back. There is an approximate 2-inch slice chip to the rim edge and another 1 1/2-inch slice chip to the underside of the rim. Another cover has a restored knob and has a 1-inch restored chip to the rim edge. One vase has an approximate 1-inch haircrack running down the rim.
Beaker vases: One has a small rim chip issuing an approximate 3-inch haircrack running down the side. The same vase has a triangular section broken at the rim edge, measuring 1 1/2 inch long along the rim and glued back with associated small chips and a haircrack. There is a third 3 1/2-inch long section broken at the rim edge and restored with a made-up piece. The restoration is old. The other vase has two short haircracks running down the side of the rim.
