Condition

Usual scratches, dents and bending consistent with use and age. Oxidation and rubbing to surface. Wood finial slightly bent and with losses.

Catalogue Note

While this form of coffee urn was first used by Dutch makers, it began to be copied in America. Two Dutch examples are in the Stedelijk Museum in Zutphen and one in the Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam. They were produced in silver, paktong, brass, and pewter.
