Description

  • Length of blunderbuss 44 1/4 in., barrel length 28 3/4 in. by diameter 1 3/4 in.
Lock inscribed Tower GR and 24.  Together with a Tower brass-barreled blunderbuss with walnut stock with folding bayonet, England, and a walnut, brass and steel flintlock pistol, England, late 18th century. 3 pieces.

Condition

The blunderbuss Acc. no. 2007.9.29B, with steel polished, proper right side of forestock cracked horizontally 20 in, finish later. The second blunderbuss with proper left side of forestock cracked and loose from front thimble to behind first mounting screw, ramrod replaced, lock inscribed WHEELER, Barrel twice stamped with foundry marks, Length 27 3/8 in., barrel length 12 in. by diameter 1 in.
