Condition
There is a short haircrack running around the handle on the upper end. There is also a very fine haircrack running from a point below the rim edge down the neck and curving towards and across the handle. There is typical minor wear and chipping to the glaze around the foot and on the rim and edges of the handle as well as typical minor fine glaze cracks overall.

Two wine bottles inscribed with the same date are illustrated in Louis L. Lipski and Michael Archer, Dated English Delftware, p. 318, cat. nos. 1315 and 1318, where the authors discuss the use of these bottles as storage vessels for the large vintners to hold samples of wines either for merchants or private customers.
