A group of documents dealing with the purchase of land in Pennsylvania by Thomas Gilpin and Miers Fisher, including 6 land patents on vellum, partially printed and accomplished in clerical hands, each signed by John Penn as the last colonial governor of Pennsylvania and with pendent wax seal between embossed paper wafers, Philadelphia, 28 February 1774; the 6 patents are each accompanied by a deed of sale for the lands in question, and 5 of the patents are also accompanied by manuscript surveys with plat maps; together with some miscellaneous documents, some relating to the Gilpin-Fisher land transactions, some fragmentary together with a bag inscribed No 4 Willm Bordman 1787. 34 pieces.

Condition
In order listed: The first: Chipping to wax seals, many of the deeds separated at folds; The second: Discolored overall. Worn in places. Some of the inscription is faded.
