Possibly an uncut casket panel, depicting an eagle over two entwined snakes, worked in couching, French knot, satin, outline and other stitches, in a later ebonized frame.

Condition
Please note that this work has not been examined out of frame. Satin foundation fabric with some losses and tears. Metal thread has tarnished and oxidized. Some losses to thread and metal elements. Colors have faded. Frame with rubbing and wear to ebonized decoration.
