Depicting Moses in the Nile being rescued by the Pharaoh's sister, worked in satin, outline, couching and other stitches, in a later ebonized and parcel-gilt frame, the reverse with an old label inscribed ART TREASURES/ of the/ WEST COUNTRY/ BRISTOL, 1937/ Entry No./ 218.

Condition

Please note that this needlework has not been examined out of frame. Colors have faded and the picture is overall slightly dark. Some losses where silk thread has worn away, generally to the stumpwork faces. Couching threads to Moses's basket also have many losses. Some discoloration and spot stains, generally to the applied fabric for the dresses. Frame with rubbing and wear to decoration, some old chips to joins.
