Condition
Pile ranges from original 1/6th of an in. in areas in border, most of the central areas of the rug low to knot heads. Dark browns oxidized and showing foundation. Areas of wear at the center of the rug also low to foundation. Some with repiling now lighter than original wools. A 4 in. by 1 in. reweave near the center. Scattered moth damage in borders with some repiling particularly in lower right corner. Sides with original polychrome selvages now with losses, fraying and overcasting. Ends with partial original macramé finishes, losses to lower left edge to guard stripes. Scattered surface dirt and spot stains will enhance with cleaning. Cloth tape sewn to both ends and cloth backing sewn to most of the back of the rug. Supple handle, sound fabric and condition, good color.
