Description

  • Height 12 1/2 in.
Modelled clutching a small dog.

Provenance

Titus Geesey Collection, Wilmington, Delaware;
Pook and Pook, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, January 11, 2008, lot 236.

Condition

Please note that the cover has a different appearance as the body is drier and unglazed; however it doesn't appear to be a matched cover. The cover has an approximate 1 by 1 1/2 inch section broken off and glued back. The jug has occasional minor chipping to the rim edges to the edges of the handle. The dog's left fore arm is chipped away. The dog has cracks running around his neck; it isn't clear as to whether he has been off the jug. There are several haircracks running sideways on the dog's body issuing from where it meets the bear. There is a haircrack running all the way around the dog's left hind leg.
