  • Length 2 in.
Painted in grisaille with a woman weeping in front of three urns and holding a plaque inscribed  "Affection Weeps, Heaven Rejoices. RB. OB. 1787  PEB. OB. 1793," reverse set with the hair of two braided, the surround engraved "MARIA BLEECKER," apparently unmarked.

The Schorsch files refer to a card (no longer present) associated with the brooch that read: "Ardmore. Feb. 8, 1929.  This brooch belonged to my maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Morris S. Miller, of Utica, New York. Her maiden name was Maria Bleeker, daughter of Rutger Bleeker of Albany, New York. The Inscription on front of brooch was her father's death in 1787 and her mother's in 1793. Morris Miller Green."
