- the largest 26.8 by 22.8cm, 10 1/2 by 9in.
the first depicting the Archangel Michael and the Miracle at Choney, unrecorded maker AT or DT (Cyrillic), St Petersburg, circa 1870, the second silver-gilt depicting the Old Testament Trinity, Vassili Semenov, Moscow, 1874, 84 standard
Condition
the Old Testament Trinity: A repaired crack running through the centre of the panel, from top to bottom, with associated re-touching. Some damage to the painted surface, particularly around the head of the right hand angel. The silver in good condition, the right edge of the frame very slightly bent, and the front with a small indentation to the inscription. Two of the halo's with evidence of having recently been re-attached.
Saint Arkhip: The faces of the figures largely repainted, and areas of re-touching to the painted surface throughout. The silver in good condition, with a small tear to the centre of the right hand edge and another to the top centre edge.
