of baluster form, the glass engraved with flowers and husks within palmettes, spreading glass feet, the collar mounts and hinged lids cast with further foliage, double scroll handles, 84 standard, scratched inventory numbers 5870 and 5871

Condition

Excellent condition, the gilding of the interior slightly worn, particularly around the outside edge.

Catalogue Note

The First Kiev Artel was founded in 1900 and produced a wide variety of silver vessels and decorations. The quality of its work is indicated in part by the fact that Fabergé's Kiev branch hired away several artel members between 1905 and 1910.
