the oval bowl painted with roundels of shaded stylised flowers within leafy stems on a cream ground, the border of translucent red ovals within cloison scrolls on green grounds, the head with translucent green eyes forming the prow, shaped scroll handle, 91 standard, scratched inventory number 1865

Condition

Very good condition. The gilding worn, to the silver on the underside of the handle and around the foot of the base. The black enamel of the beak and green enamel of the eye on the left side of the figure's head covered with lacquer, presumably covering restoration or supporting cracking, One leaf on the right hand side of the panel with similar lacquer, and one red dot with a small patch of lacquer.
