oval, carved of rhodonite, the handles formed of 2-rouble gold coins of Emperor Peter I dated 1722 and 1720, part-enamelled in translucent red over hatching, each within four rose-cut diamonds and rings of opaque white enamel bound reeds above undulating gold ribbons, struck with workmaster's initials, 56 standard, in original wood box
