the front and sides enamelled in translucent red over surfaces engraved to simulate wood grain, the arched top with pierced grille above a ribbon-bound laurel swag hung from rose-cut diamonds, the aperture with polished gold bezel, the ivory back swivelling to open, A-frame strut, struck with workmaster’s initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 5165
Condition
The enamel surface lacquered overall, presumably concealing restoration. The gilding worn to the silver along the edges. The glass chipped in the bottom left corner. The strut slightly askew on its mount.
