Catalogue Note
The Willow was exhibited at Manevich's first ever solo exhibition which was held in Kiev in 1909 and was one of the works the artist brought with him when he first went to Paris at the beginning of 1912. His exhibition held at the Galerie Durand-Ruel met with great success and established his reputation in Europe. Most of the 75 works exhibited sold, including the present lot.
