  • pencil on paper, one with coloured crayon
  • each: 36.5 by 26cm; 14 by 10 1/4 in.

Condition

The portrait of Irina Kustodieva has coloured crayon. The sheets of all six are discoloured and there is a layer of light surface dirt. A number of the edges are uneven and have minor nicks and tears. The portrait of Irina Kustodieva is missing the lower left corner; the portrait of Stelletsky and the Drawing Class are also torn and uneven along the left edge. Each held in a simple wooden frame behind glass. Unexamined out of frames.

In the State Russian Museum catalogue of Kustodiev's posthumous exhibition of 1928 numbers 435, 444 and 445 are listed as Study of a Child, Portrait of Irina Kustodieva and Study of a Child (Irina Kustodieva). The three child portraits offered as part of this lot may refer to these exhibits.
