Catalogue Note

The Great Blessing of the Water, or Winter Paskha, is celebrated by the Orthodox church on the feast of the Epiphany. Having blessed a font of holy water for the parish's use over the forthcoming year, the priest leads a procession to the nearest body of water to commemorate Jesus' baptism in the River Jordan.
