A gift from the artist to the present owners in 1957
Condition
Original canvas on its original stretcher. There is a small paint chip in the petals of the uppermost dark flower. There is a light layer of surface dirt with flecks of dirt in places. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a decorative gilt wooden frame with cream coloured slip. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
The present still life was a gift from Goncharova to the two sons of a Mayfair gallery owner who worked with Goncharova on a group show he organised in late 1957. The work has remained in their possession ever since.
