Condition

Original canvas which shows signs of buckling throughout, particularly in the two upper corners. There are frame abrasions at the edges with associated minor paint loss. A few scattered paint chips are visible in places, such as in the vase in the centre of the composition and in the tablecloth between the glass and the apple. There is a layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of restoration throughout, most notably: in the background behind the table, to the top and bottom edges and either side of the plate with apples. Held in a black and silver painted wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.
