Condition

The edges and corners of the board show slight signs of wear and there are frame abrasions. There is a light layer of surface dirt and several minor scuffs and scratches to the surface. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gold coloured wooden frame with decorative moulding. Unexamined out of frame.

The present lot is one of two known portraits Vassilieff painted of Prince Albrecht of Urach, an artist, photographer and journalist who studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris between 1927 and 1930.
