Condition

The board is slightly bowed. The edges are uneven and show signs of wear, as do the corners, particularly the lower left. There is a pinhole in the upper left corner. The odd discrete patch of craquelure and some paint shrinkage is visible, particularly in the built-up areas of white pigment in the tablecloth. There are some creases in the board, for example in the centre of the bottom edge. There is a light layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals retouching in the dark pigment in the upper right corner, in the lower right corner and other minor areas scattered throughout the composition. Held in a gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
