Condition

Overall measurements: 121cm across the top, 121cm across the bottom, 167cm along the left, 162cm along the right. Dense, glossy wool with clear colour. Generally even 3mm pile overall, down to 2mm in areas of top right quadrant, for example in the red ground of top lozenge. Only visible on close inspection is a vertical warp, in the centre of the lower end and halfway up on the far left side from the outer edge into the middle of the yellow border, approx 14cm. long. Both ends with flatweave and original knotted fringes, largely knotting visible with vestiges of fringing and section on lower right corner lacking most of knotted fringes to a width of approximately 19cm wide. With original flatweave sidecords with some small nicks and loose threads. This is a dramatic and striking rug in both colour and composition. Unusual banded borders.
