Condition
Overall measurements: 103cm across the top, 103cm across the bottom, 266cm along the left, 264cm along the right.
Soft lustrous wool with generally even 3-4mm pile overall. With even oxidisation to browns, especially affecting the borders (stable attractive appearance to oxidisation) with some associated light wear. There are evenly spaced warp tension lines visible within the ivory border along the lower width. There are some minute repairs in areas, for example top edge of outer border. Both ends with minor losses and now later overlocking and trimmed fringing. With original double sidecords. This is a very attractive piece with vibrant and colours and particularly charming narrow main field filled with jewel-like motifs and crisp drawing. A really lovely rug.
