With an accompanying certificate of authenticity from Tom Hulett

Catalogue Note

A large ring that Presley gave to his tour promoter Tom Hulett in the '70s as "a special thanks for the tour going so well." Hulett co-founded Concerts West, Inc., a company that produced tours for such artists as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

Presley seems to have had a penchant for giving away rings. Even his ersatz nemesis Robert Goulet (see lot 96) once described his penchant for generosity: "I remember once we sat together backstage for two hours. And he was a charming, delightful, delightful man. And at one point I said, “That’s a beautiful ring you have there.” He said “You like it?” I said, “It’s beautiful!” He took it off his hand and put it on mine. He gave me his ring."
