John Lennon and Yoko Ono

As part of Ono and Lennon's activism for peace, the pair launched a 1969 media campaign in which they purchased space on a series of billboards around the world, which broadcasted the message: "War is Over | if you want it | Happy Christmas from John and Yoko." In tandem with that effect, fliers and posters were printed and distributed to passersby and hung in nearby homes.
