Janis Joplin

Concert poster (24 x 18 in.; 610 x 457 mm). Printed in black on silver paper. Poster design by John Moehring, incorporating a photograph by Bob Seidemann (see lot 67). Pin holes to upper corners; some surface losses to edges, with minor creasing. 

A concert poster advertising the last group appearance of Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada. Joplin went solo shortly thereafter, and went on to produce one solo album (I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!) before her death in 1970. A second album, Pearl, was released posthumously in 1971.
