Catalogue Note

James Brown and his Revue performed several times in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the '60s. This poster from 1969 was possibly meant to mitigate tension by advertising "A show for the entire family!"  after an earlier concert in 1966 had played out like a scene from "Footloose" — extra police had been stationed at that concert, and, as the Tulsa Tribune proclaimed at the time  "No dancing will be allowed."
