Condition
The illustration is accurate, good overall condition despite the inevitable dents, scratches and marks due to the age and use.
Secretary: the veneer is very slightly flaking on the front door, the veneer at the front is slightly sun faded a very few minor losses to the veneer, the gilding has been gently cleaned, the ormolu mount around the lock of the front door is losses and has to be fixed properly.
commode: the gilding is slightly tarnished, a few minors restoration to the gilding front, some shrinkage scratches has been restored on the lateral sides.
Please note that this condition report was made on August 31th 2016 inside Robert de Balkany's hôtel rue de Varenne; this lot will be shipped to Sotheby's galleries before the exhibit and the sale.
