Condition
Illustration is slightly too clear and too contrasted. Good overall condition. Sound and sturdy. Inevitable wear and tiny chips to the painting on the more exposed areas (as visible on the photographs). Velvet upholstery also quite worn (especially on the armrests for example). However, very fine carving, nice proportions and elegant design, typical of Louis XVI period. Please note that this condition report was made on September 1rst 2016 inside Robert de Balkany's hôtel rue de Varenne; this lot will be shipped to Sotheby's galleries before the exhibit and the sale.
