A l’œil nu : Le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation moyennement satisfaisant. Il a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage réalisé dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, un peu fort et qui a tassé la matière. Il a fait l’objet d’un nettoyage correctement réalisé, certainement dans la période du réentoilage, mais qui a pu supprimer quelques glacis, notamment dans le ciel. On remarque à l’œil nu quelques restaurations intervenant dans le ciel, dans le fond marron à gauche et dans le buste de femme sur la table. A la lampe U. V. : Le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme. On remarque d’assez nombreuses reprises dans le ciel, dans les architectures à droite, dans le visage du personnage au centre, dans son pantalon blanc, dans la console à gauche, dans le buste de femme, et dans le chien. To the naked eye: The painting appears in moderately satisfactory condition. It has been relined, on the 2nd half of the 20th century, a little bit too strong and has flattened the pictorial matter. It has been correctly cleaned, most probably at the same period, and has probably removed some glazes, specially in the sky. We notice some restorations in the sky, in the brown background on the left and on the woman bust on the table. Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We notice numerous repaints in the sky, on the architectures on the right, on the face of the sitter, on his white trousers, on the console table on the left, on the woman bust and on the dog.
