A l’œil nu : Le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation satisfaisant. Il est peint sur une toile contrecollée sur un contreplaqué. Le tableau se présente sous un vernis très épais, encrassé. On ne remarque pas de restauration à l’œil nu. A la lampe U. V. : Le tableau se présente sous un vernis vert épais uniforme. On remarque quelques restaurations ponctuelles dans le ciel, au centre et au-dessus de la Salute. To the naked eye: The painting appears in satisfactory condition. It has been painted on a canvas laid down on a plywood. The painting is under a very thick and dirty varnish. We cannot notice any restoration. Under U. V. light: The painting appears under a green thick uniform varnish. We notice some restorations in the sky, in the centre and above the Salute.

Notre tableau est une reprise, avec quelques variantes, d'une composition de Bernardo Bellotto connue par plusieurs versions autographes dont celles de la National Gallery de Dublin et de la Galerie Estense de Modène (voir S. Kozakiewicz, Bernardo Bellotto, Londres, 1972, t. II p. 427, n°ZI43, Z144, reproduits p. 424).
