  • en bronze doré; sur un socle en marbre vert antique et bronze doré
  • Haut. 41 cm, larg. 42 cm; height 16 1/4 in., width 16 1/2 in.

Condition

Fairly good condition overall with oxidation the the patina and dirt in the crevices consistent with age and handling. Minor chips to the edges of the marble base consistent with age and handling.

Antoine-Denis Chaudet expose L'Amour prenant un papillon au Salon de 1817. Il sera ensuite placé au Grand Trianon à Versailles (aujourd'hui au musée du Louvre; inv. n° LL56).
